A Christian nation is not a Christian nation in its slogans but in its ethical system it chooses. The duty of the civil magistrate or the government is to condone good and punish evil. Therefore, that civil authority must know the basis for determining what is good and what is evil. Unless the people are to decide by vote or fiat, a nation that will endure must have a foundation built on something deeper than law and, in fact, deeper than a Constitution.

The law of nature, or natural law, is what God has put into the heart of man for the expressed purpose of providing man's preservation and direction. William Blackstone in his Commentaries on the Law stated, "this Law of Nature...dictated by God Himself, is of course, superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over the entire globe, in all countries, and at all times; no human laws are of any validity if contrary to this;" This law of Nature becomes an absolute which cannot be abrogated by a vote of the people.

If darkness is spreading across America it is because someone is hiding the light. That "someone" is the Body of Christ, the Christians across America. A Christian nation is not the "establishment" of a religion in America. It is the recognition of an absolute moral law "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are rzlaw Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The rights of man come from God, not from the state or a vote of the people. To subject a nation's rights to the state or a vote of the people's will is to do so at the peril of a nation's existence. We, America, have forgotten God. Have you?
